The Youth Center

Four-thirty Sunday morning

Much to my surprise

These words were running through my head

Before I could arise

I tried to get back to sleep

But it was no use

A voice kept telling me

"Before you forget, write them down, you silly goose!"

We really need this center

Where the children can be safe

A refuge from the outside world

A truly happy place

Where parents can leave their kids

And know they are being taught

To play in peace and harmony

That sure means a lot

So keep your pledges coming

They are needed urgently

The future of this Center

Is in your hands, you see

And I must add the Pastor did not ask me to write this poem

I know it was a voice from Heaven

Who did it all alone

Our Church is a haven

For all of us you see

To keep it alive and well

Is strictly up to you and me
